About Us

Salaam and welcome to Muslim On Paper - It says 'About Us', but actually it's About Me - I work in a trendy art studio in London with a team of cool designers.

Yeah right!

Truth is, I work from my bedroom (which doubles as my studio), using a very old MacBook which overheats and is on its last legs - Alhumdulillah!

OK, so I am not really sure what to write here, but here goes. . .

Basically, Muslim On Paper, started as a little project that I just wanted to see if I could do. I wanted to create Islamic greeting cards that Muslims would like to send each other, Insha'Allah.

Reason was that when I looked online, I couldn't find the kind of cards that I wanted to send to friends & family. So, like a typical husband, I complained to my wife, and in her usual soft loving way, she replied 'well get off your backside and do something about it!' (She's a keeper.)

So here I am, working on this online Muslim greeting card shop and haven't got a clue if anyone will even like any of these cards! (Khair, insha'Allah)

In a world of WhatsApp messages, emails and so much digital communication (which is fine), I feel that receiving a physical card in the post is really nice.

You know what it's like, picture this - you're checking through your mail on a Monday morning ... electric bill ... gas bill ... final reminder, ....... wait, what's this? It's an envelope WITHOUT the words 'do not ignore' stamped on it.

You open the envelope (in my case, rip it open) and well, there it is - a card just for you. You read the message and for sure - 100% you're smiling ...

Am I laying it on too thick? Well, you get the idea.

Why do we wait until Eid to send cards?

Why not send a card to a loved one for no other reason except to let them know you care and are thinking of them.

My hope is to create mini Islamic works of art with a contemporary edge. I would love for the Islamic artwork, Muslim greeting cards (whatever you want to call it) to be gentle reminders of our beautiful faith.

Why not stick them on your fridge? Have them on your desk?

I hope these designs resonate with you, insha'Allah. (Otherwise, my wife will have to buy all these cards!)

Update:

OK, so I started getting requests for my Islamic greeting cards to be made into Islamic posters, Alhumdulillah!

So, I have started to offer contemporary Islamic wall art for like-minded Muslims who want a more modern feel to the Islamic artwork in their living spaces. The Islamic art prints are inspired by Islamic values and spirit of our deen, Insha'Allah.

Allah bless you for visiting and please keep me in your duas that this website takes off, Insha'Allah.

Peace
